Let’s start from the interface. In Excel 2010 there is an option to create your own ribbons. Now it’s your choice where are all the needed options. You can easily find everything, but if you are used to old Excel look and you know where thing are.. it’s OK, you can keep it old and simple too.

Next new thing is better management tools for workbooks. Now it’s easier to control and protect all your precious data. Did you ever closed accidentally file without saving or you saved something you shouldn’t? Now you can recover previous version of document. If you close your workbook without saving Excel can recover your workbook from temporarily kept file. But there is one thing you have to know. To use this option on a new workbook you have to:

1. Click the FILE tab and pick RECENT option.
2. Pick RECOVER UNSAVED WORKBOOKS.

Now you can access your unsaved workbooks by:

1. Creating or editing any file.
2. Now click the FILE tab and then INFO
3. Click MENAGE VERSIONS and RECOVER UNSAVED WORKBOOKS


What else? Excel 2010 includes a Protected View, so you can make more informed decisions before exposing your computer to possible vulnerabilities. By default, documents that originate from an Internet source are opened in Protected View. When this happens, you see a warning on the Message bar, along with the option to enable editing. You can control which originating sources trigger Protected View. You can also set specific file types to open in Protected View regardless of where they originate

In new Excel 2010 is an option no trusted document. What it is, and how it works? Do you remember when you wanted open a macro workbook and Excel asked about macros? Yes, now it’s gone! You can make your workbooks marked as a trusted documents and then you will avoid being prompted about macros.

Maybe you don’t like to sit in the office or you can’t but you have to use a workbook? No problem. Excel 2010 offers you a Microsoft Excel Web app. You can now view and edit workbook from a any browser. It is available in Windows Live SkyDrive and in organizations that have configured Office Web Apps on SharePoint 2010.
