Excel’s ATAN function returns the arctangent of a number (in radians). For more information what arctangent is visit ArcTangent.Net. For this Excel’s function we can type different values, below and above zero, like in example below.



We used ATAN function in A6 for A4 cell (-66 value) =ATAN(A4) and the result was (-1,555645971). When ATAN was used at above zero value like A5 =ATAN(A5) it returns below zero result 1,460139106, used at zero value (in A2) =ATAN(A2) returns 0.
