AVERAGEA can be used like simple AVERAGE in one cell or range of cells. The difference in counting Average value from cells is that AVERAGEA counts TRUE and FALSE value and numbers and AVERAGE nly numbers. Let’s see that.



In the example above we have multicolumn database with logic statements (FALSE, TRUE) and numbers. At C8 we used AVERAGEA =AVERAGEA(A1:C7) the result was 0,959524. But how AVERAGEA counts the logic values? As some of you could know the TRUE value is counted as 1 and FALSE value is 0 in math, bio and IT- Excel’s works the same. Let’s check it.



We typed TRUE value to all cells from A1 to A6. The =AVERAGEA(A1:A6) was 1. If you would change all TRUE values to FALSE, your result will be 0.
